Over at the ASUS stand, the G70 gaming-oriented model packed in practically everything but the kitchen sink.

The brushed aluminium look is cool, sure, but what's cooler is the list of components that are installed in this ultra-high-end desktop-replacement beast.

Based on the Santa Rosa platform, processing power is handled by an Intel Core 2 Extreme mobile processor that supports overclocking; graphics by a pair of GeForce 8700M GTs pre-configured in SLI; a couple of hard drives that can provide a potential 1TiB of storage; either an HD DVD or Blu-ray drive; and a 17in WUXGA (1,920x1,200) screen that looks lush. There's also an HDMI port for exporting video, too.

If that feature-list isn't enough to get your mobile gamers salivating, it's hard to know what is. We'd ike ASUS to engineer the same laptop but with a 19in panel instead: whose counting weight at this end of the market?

Indeed, it's more powerful than the majority of readers' PC, I bet. Pricing will depend upon the exact configuration, of course.

Look decent enough to me but i prefer the one 15' screen hopefully they will have one
anyone know how much that thing weighs? must be a concrete block to carry
cool specs, looks n must weigh like a beast though.
I'd have one. Who cares about the weight, you don't get a high gaming rig like that and worry about weight. You know it'll be heavy.
