LG will be showing off the Tab-Book H160 at the CES in Las Vegas later this week but lucky consumers in South Korea can already buy this Windows 8 hybrid computer. It’s powered by Intel’s 1.8 GHz Atom Z2760 processor and has an 11.6-inch screen with a resolution of 1366x768 pixels. The machine, with its useful built-in keyboard, is 15.9mm thick and weighs in at 1.05Kg. Its portability is enhanced by the fact that the machine has a battery life of approximately 12 hours (MobileMark 2012).

We’ve seen a couple of slider convertibles before like the Android based ASUS Eee Pad Slider and the Windows 8 based MSI S20 Ultrabook. Actually the MSI S20, which was shown off at Computex, has only just been scheduled for availability in Q1 2013.

LG’s Tab-Book H160 tries to offer the best of both laptop and tablet worlds with some compromises, as you might expect. The sliding keyboard adds weight and makes the device thicker than many tablets. Also there is no touchpad/mouse button/wrist-rest area due to the slider’s depth. Let’s have a look at the specs to see exactly what will be on offer here.

No USB 3.0 port.

Manufactures needs to really push USB 3.0 as it offers so much more over USB 2.0
When are they going to start making decent resolution screens above 10“? The Nexus 10 is 2560x1600, surely someone can stick a 1080p minimum screen in a 11 or 12” laptop/hybrid thing and not charge £1000s…
*sigh*

Make this with ULV Trinity and they can take my money :D Hell, make it with Kabini and they can probably take my money. With Atom + Intel IGP (even if it is an Imagination Technologies design) it just doesn't interest me…

The screen resolution on the nexus 10 was a mistake, it was more of a showing off thing. Because of the resolution the tablet is slower and less power efficient. You don't need 2560 x 1600 on a 10" display.

Have you seen 2560 x 1600 on a 10" display? It looks amazing!
