Carries the big guns of the NVIDIA 790i chipset

Back at January's CES 2008 in Las Vegas, we got all excited about Foxconn's BlackOps mainboard, which was chock full of extras for the serious overclocker, along with warm and cuddly stuff for the beginner. But it did kinda leave SLI fans in the cold as the BlackOps board was Crossfire only.

Well now Foxconn has put that right with the Dreadnought, a mainboard based on the NVIDIA 790i chipset and offering triple SLI for fans of the green GFX cards. We've gotta say, we like the name better, too.

Taking a quick look at the board, you might be a little disconcerted by the fan brackets on that huge northbridge cooler overhanging the first PCIe slot. Well, don't worry, this is an engineering sample - the finished product will have smaller brackets rather than these giant versions.
