The Foxconn Renaissance supports Intel's upcoming Nehalem microprocessor via the X58 (Tylersburg) chipset.
Thinking about it from a motherboard/chipset perspective, Nehalem adds in an integrated memory controller that interfaces with tri-channel DDR3 RAM. Further, it includes QuickPath links to other parts of the system.
As such, the pin-count is different when compared to the incumbent Core 2 Duo/Quad CPUs based on the Core 2 design.
Desktop Nehalem will use an LGA1366 package, as shown below.

Together with the six DIMM slots that provide tri-channel memory support.
Of course, Nehalem is still some way off production, and Intel is targeting late 2008 for full-production models.
One of the questions that will need to be resolved before then is whether NVIDIA is granted a QuickPath license, enabling it to design chipsets around Intel's next big thing, or will Nehalem be an Intel-only affair on the desktop?
