Biostar is working on a new TPower mainboard - this time fuelled by Intel's upcoming X79 chipset.
Hoping to be quite the extreme overclocker, it's suggested that the TPower X79 filters-out the bloat that is sometimes associated with high-end solutions, and instead focuses on delivering the all-important overclocking goods.
Beginning with CPU power delivery, it appears that the TPower X79 is kitted-out with an 8-phase DuraMax VRM, together with active phase control and direct FETs. There's also the use of POSCAP capacitors and a total of two 8-pin EPS connectors, as well as the usual 24-pin ATX variety. In addition, Biostar adds a Molex power connector, to beef-up PCIe slot power stability.
We can see a total of four DIMM slots, and the mainboard is said to play along with memory speeds up to DDR3-2400MHz.
There are two PCIe 3.0 x16 slots, a single PCIe 2.0 x16 slot, two PCIe x1 slots and a standard PCI slot to complete the line-up. As for connectivity, you've got six SATA 6Gbps ports, USB 3.0, eSATA, Gigabit Ethernet and 8+2 channel HD Audio.
