MSI installs AI on ultrawidescreen monitor

Industry stalwart MSI, like most, has branched out of its core motherboard business to create PCs, peripherals, and monitors.

We actually took a look at MSI's first premium gaming monitor in the form of the Optix MPG27CQ right over here.

At Computex 2019, however, the firm showcased its latest range of screens that offer something different from the norm. The Optix MPG341CQR, for example, is a 34in ultrawidescreen monitor with a 3,440x1,440 resolution, VA panel, 144Hz refresh rate and support for both FreeSync and G-Sync technologies.

A couple of standout features are the RGB lighting on the front and back and what the company calls AI integration, where the user can change monitor profiles - brightness, settings, etc. - by simply looking at the built-in camera.

Up to five people can be registered for face recognition, enabling members of a family to customise the exact settings and have them applied by a look. Learn more by watching the video, above.
