Dell has quietly introduced a successor to its 24in G2410 monitor in the form of the new-and-improved G2410H.
The updated revision, pictured above, features just one significant addition; a height-adjustable stand with swivel functionality thrown in.
There's still no means of rotating the display for portrait orientation, but the stand is nonetheless a marked improvement from the tilt-only implementation on the older G2410.
Elsewhere, the upgraded model is very much a G2410 through and through, and features the same 24in Twisted Nematic (TN) panel offering a 1,920x1,080 resolution.
Dell quotes a standard contrast ratio of 1000:1, 250 nits of brightness, a 5ms typical response time and viewing angles of 160° vertical and 170° horizontal.
Not groundbreaking in terms of image quality - and clearly inferior to Dell's lush UltraSharp range - but the G2410H is designed as a low-cost and energy-efficient solution for the home user. With features such as an ambient light sensor, dynamic dimming and three energy modes, Dell reckons the G2410H will typically consume less than 20 watts of power when in use, and less than 0.15 watts in standby. If that's appealing to your inner-green-self, note also that the display is manufactured using "friendly materials" and comes delivered in "highly recyclable" packaging.
Sold? Dell US currently has the G2410H priced at $339, but there's no mention of UK pricing as yet.
