Acer has unveiled its HN274H monitor, billed as the world's first 27in FHD 3D display.

With a quoted contrast ratio of 100,000,000:1 and a 1,920x1,080 resolution, the LED backlit panel adds a 120Hz refresh rate and claimed 2ms response time to its repertoire.

Acer tells us that the HN274H - with its high-end feature set - is ideal for all-round entertainment, as well as for gaming and video enthusiasts. The manufacturer adds that its eColor and Adaptive Contrast Management technologies work dynamically to, apparently, deliver ultra-sharp and realistic visuals.

Shipping in May at an SRP of £499, including VAT, the HN274H features a built-in IR emitter, and Acer throws in a pair of NVIDIA 3D glasses too.

1080p ?
Gah. If I'm paying 500 clams I'd really like to see better than that. If they made it 1200 I'd be in there like a greased rat.
1080p *and* 120Hz. Know of any other 1080p, 120Hz monitors for less than £500? ;)

Yeah 1080p *and* 120Hz, in smaller screen sizes, there're several on Scan. I guess you're referring to 27" though ;)

Meh, it works as a TV.

24“ is better, but there must be a market for 27” monitors as they've been around for a few years. I guess it serves as both a monitor and a TV for your console.

It's the 16:9 part of it that I hate. And the 3D aspect, but then I guess I can do something about that.
