Performance
The default duo of 120mm fans can be considered basic by today's standards, yet there's plenty of airflow for our overclocked Core i5-3570K.
Cooling our dual GeForce GTX 970 graphics cards is the tougher test, and the Carbide Series 270R can't prevent the cards from reaching their 80ºC thermal target. Performance is as expected for a sub-£65 solution.
There's plenty of scope for more elaborate cooling, but keeping noise levels down to a minimum may be tricky. There is no sound-dampening material to speak of, and the open-vented top section doesn't bode well for containing noise. Our test platform is audible when idle and quite loud when gaming.
