Conclusion
Crystal Series 680X is an interesting choice for those seeking something a little different to the norm, but at £220 it's an expensive proposition. We've liked the Corsair Crystal Series 680X RGB chassis, but a selection of niggles has prevented us from loving it.
The case looks very smart in the flesh thanks primarily to three sheets of tempered glass and three vivid RGB fans, and it's always nice to see a form factor that's different to your regular tower.
Having a secondary rear chamber is great for hiding away clutter or components you don't want to be seen, the main chamber has plenty of room for an ultra-high-end platform, and with USB Type-C and seven storage bays, there's a good amount of flexibility.
We're also fond of the way Corsair has neatly integrated dust filters, and the swinging door is great if you need to get inside your PC frequently, yet the 680X clearly isn't perfect. The omission of a fan hub is a strange one, the top radiator rail really ought to be offset for those who favour a push/pull setup, and for a case that boasts brilliant RGB lighting, it's a shame the rear exhaust has been excluded from the show.
Bottom line: Crystal Series 680X is an interesting choice for those seeking something a little different to the norm, but at £220 it's an expensive proposition. A non-RGB model at around the £130 mark would perhaps be more enticing.
