Benchmark: CPU temperature
Three of the 14 chassis in our line up are designed with quiet-computing in mind - the Cooler Master Silencio 550, Antec SOLO II and Corsair Obsidian 550D.
As shown by the above graph, all three sacrifice cooling performance in an effort to keep noise levels in check, but in the case of the Obsidian 550D, the sacrifice is less significant. The 'quiet' Obsidian doesn't cool quite as well as previous Corsair chassis, but in its out-the-box configuration it manages to keep a high-end Core i7-980X processor running at below 65ÂșC under load. The temperatures are well within the limits of the chip, even with fan speeds set to low through the system BIOS.
