Conclusion

Armed with nine expansion slots and more radiator mounting opportunities than you're ever likely to need, there's a huge amount of potential and the case is primed for premium X99 builds.

Corsair's Graphite Series 780T is a welcome addition to the company's roster of full-tower solutions for the high-end enthusiast. Armed with nine expansion slots and more radiator mounting opportunities than you're ever likely to need, there's a huge amount of potential and the case is primed for premium X99 builds.

However, while there's no doubting the 780T's performance credentials, there is room for further refinement throughout. The case as a whole feels plasticky compared to Obsidian Series alternatives, and though the built-in fan controller is nice to have, it's spoilt by not remembering the last-used setting.

These niggling issues take some of the shine off the 780T as a complete package, and complicating matters, the small shortcomings are confounded by Corsair's own product range. The 780T, despite its outward curves, isn't too dissimilar to the existing 760T, and if the plastic accents of the Graphite Series aren't filling you with confidence, it's worth noting that the sturdier Obsidian Series 750D is readily available, and that it costs less, too.

Bottom line: the 780T is a curvier alternative to the recently-released 760T and, provided you have the hardware needed to maximise its cavernous interior, is worthy of consideration for an eye-catching, full-tower build.

The Good

Primed for an extreme X99 build
Design likely to turn heads
Available in black, white or yellow
Integrated three-step fan controller
Massive amount of internal space
Supports multiple thick radiators
Quick-release side panels
11 storage bays in total
Nine expansion slots

The Bad

Too big to be a true successor to the 600T
Fan controller reverts to high speed on shutdown
Front-panel cabling is messy
Plasticky for a £140 chassis

Looks nice but not enough for me to change from my 900D which I got a few years back after the Hexus review at the time.
Still looks like new and only requires the occasional clean of the dust filters :)
My bad, on looking at the pictures it's actually a 600T, linked on the 1st page of this review that I have.
Looks very nice but way too big for me. It is too tall to sit under a desk which is probably just as well because I have always thought that putting all the usb connectors and on off switch on the top of the case is a design flaw for anything that sits under a desk.

Will there be a smaller version?
Same price as the premium Obsidian 650D

Far from good value - although a darn good case,
It's a stunner - too big for me though. I ditched the 800D for being too big and replaced it with the 650D.
