Performance

Seems upward-facing airflow has its benefits. Our overclocked Core i5-3570K processor appreciates the Raven's unique orientation, though it's worth noting that all of the above chassis have no problem delivering acceptable CPU temperature.

Today's high-end GPUs pose more of a challenge, and the Raven RVX01 isn't able to prevent our dual GeForce GTX 970 graphics cards from hitting 80ÂșC, at which point they begin to throttle. In SilverStone's defence, the manufacturer does state that the RVX01 is best suited to graphics cards "that have fan blowing exhaust air to the rear slot." Bear this in mind when picking out your components.

We're of the opinion that today's best chassis strike an optimum balance between noise and performance. The Raven series has always favoured the latter and RVX01 is no exception. The trio of three-pin fans can clearly be heard when idle and the system struggles to contain noise output while gaming.
