Battlefield 3 is one of the most popular PC games of the year and features breathtaking visuals and an absorbing multiplayer component.

Battlefield 3 tends to perform well on NVIDIA cards, and our head-to-head comparison doesn't disagree.

In this hugely-popular first-person shooter, EVGA's SuperClocked GTX 580 comes out fractionally ahead of Sapphire's OverClocked Radeon HD 7950 in single-GPU configurations, and there's a twist in the dual-GPU tale as well.

The AMD and NVIDIA solutions both scale well at 1,920x1,080, but at 2,560x1,600, the Radeons don't scale at all. Another driver issue, we reckon.
