Conclusion
...Razer has now solidified the Stealth range by releasing a 13.3in model in the same chassis.Razer dipped its toe into the premium ultrabook waters last year with the release of the original Stealth machine. Having listened to feedback from the community, Razer has now solidified the Stealth range by releasing a 13.3in model in the same chassis, available in standard black or gunmetal grey.
The larger touchscreen and 3,200x1,800 resolution make more sense in a laptop of this size, and the narrowing of the jarring bezels of the original model is immediately noticeable. Other than that, not much else has changed, apart from a bump in specifications that takes the entry-level price of this model to £1,349. Though that may seem expensive on first glance, a rival Dell XPS 13 with similar components costs £1,500.
Razer understands that core specifications alone aren't enough of a differentiation from other premium ultrabook builders, so its RGB-lit keyboard, distinctive styling and Synapse ecosystem are key selling points to its established audience.
Appreciating the hardware that Razer has to work with and the remit of a system of this ilk, there really isn't much we'd change. A matte finish would stop it picking up grease so quickly, and an SSD with better speeds would help, but really is it in terms of our gripes.
Want an ultrabook a little different from the norm? The Razer Blade Stealth (2017) is a fine choice.
The Good The Bad Sleek, attractive design
Thin and light
Lovely screen
Distinctive keyboard
Fingerprint magnet
SSD write speed not great
