Conclusion
...an admirable blend of performance, security and versatility make it one of the best premium business convertibles on the market today.HP has improved the venerable EliteBook x360 by introducing a raft of incremental upgrades in this year's 1030 G2.
Building on an already solid foundation, the latest model is 10 per cent smaller than its predecessor yet touts a noticeably brighter display, thinner display bezels, a choice of faster CPUs, two additional speakers that better suit the convertible form factor and optional 4G LTE connectivity.
Said upgrades enhance a laptop that already boasts an excellent keyboard and trackpad, decent battery life, top-notch build quality and a comprehensive list of security options. A heady mix, but we still fall short of absolute perfection as fan noise continues to be a bugbear, the top-end Core i7 chip will throttle when pushed, and though the display is brighter, it lacks the wow factor on offer from some of the competition.
Bottom line: the HP EliteBook x360 1030 G3 is an expensive proposition, but an admirable blend of performance, security and versatility make it one of the best premium business convertibles on the market today.
