Benchmarks: Vitals and Battery Life
To test real-world longevity, we loop a high-definition movie clip with 50 per cent screen brightness and flight mode enabled, timing how long it takes each laptop to succumb to hibernation. Differing usage scenarios will have a significant impact on run time, but this simple benchmark gives us a good idea of how certain laptops compare.
In this scenario, the ThinkPad Yoga 260 managed to keep going for just over nine hours. Not bad, but it's a sign of how much battery life has progressed in recent years that we're just a tad disappointed not to have made it past the ten-hour mark.
