Benchmarks: Vitals and Battery Life

CPU temperature under load appears to be remarkably low for a fanless system. Remember, however, that the Core m3-6Y30 is throttling to as low as 1.2GHz in order to keep temperature in check.

How about battery life? Well, it's decent but not great. To test longevity we loop a high-definition movie clip with 50 per cent screen brightness and flight mode enabled, timing how long it takes each laptop to succumb to hibernation. In this scenario, the UX305CA managed to keep going for just over seven hours. We had expected to get closer to the 10-hour mark, and we suspect the high-resolution display panel is a limiting factor.
