Moving on over to gaming now.
Another almost i955X Express-matching benchmark in our first gaming test. There's two possible explanations for this. One could be that Memory Pipeline Technology isn't all that Intel claims it to be. A couple of hundred marks difference denotes a less than 1% deficit. A second explanation could be that the reference i955X Express board's BIOS and settings aren't quite as refined as it could be. It trails the MSI nForce4 Intel Edition mainboard here by almost 400 marks, even though both use the same timings. A breakdown of the i945G's score can be found here.
Athlon 64 just powers on ahead.
Decent i945G performance with a discrete ATI RADEON X850 XT PE 256MB card.
