Benchmarks: Storage

We finish our benchmarks with an evaluation of the M2R32-MVP's storage subsystems.

SATA

It's a small margin, but the ASUS board on review loses out to the other four boards.

Burst speeds are better than Sturgeon, however.

Conversely, access times are a little higher than what we're used to.

The M2R32-MVP's SATA storage, then, while perfectly functional, is ever so slightly slower than the other boards we've tested of late.

USB

SB600 is a marked improvement over previous ATI southbridges, but it still doesn't give the throughput of nForce 5.

FireWire

FireWire is disappointing, although it's still quicker than USB. Still, the other boards manage much better throughput.

Storage as a whole is OK, but not great.
