Realstorm's Raytacing benchmark finds both Intel-based protagonists lagging behind AMD power. ASUS' board just manages to keep ahead of DFI's excellent Springdale.

Another example of how applications can be suited to one platform over another. DFI's lead is inconsequential.

Despite a slight MHz deficit ASUS' P4C800-E has managed to eclipse a DFI i865PE LANPARTY's 2D results. We'd expect that given one is a Canterwood and the other a Springdale.

Intel's ICH5(R) is renowned for producing low CPU utilisation figures, according to HDTach 2.70. The board has the ability to run a total of 4 SATA drives and, assuming all PATA ports are used, 6 PATA drives. A 10-drive PC with ~3TB storage capacity is easier to assemble than you may think.
