Power Consumption and Noise

There's little to separate the two in terms of power consumption, with both doing well to keep system-wide power draw under 10 watts when all four disks have entered standby. Given that the chassis are practically identical, it is no surprise to find that noise output is almost perfectly matched. The drives are clearly audible under load, and even when idle the dual fans are noticeable, despite being configured to a 'silent' profile by default.
