SilverStone Zeus 850W

Like its slightly less powerful brother, the Silverstone Zeus 850W (model SST-ST85ZF) is 180mm deep - and that's 30mm deeper than an ATX power supply.

So you'll need to take care that it will fit your PC case.

Also like the 750W version, the 850W model has a single 80mm fan.

And, judging by our thermal tests, the fan, which couldn't be described as quiet, is going to be running flat out pretty much all the time.

Unlike its smaller brother, though, the Molex and SATA cables are sheathed. However, as with the Enermax PSUs, the sheathing is only partial - it goes as far as the first connector on each cable run; the others are left naked.

A neat touch is the way that each run of cable is labelled to show which 12V rail it's using. So, you won't necessarily need to refer to the manual to check how to divvy out power to the different devices.

Inside the box is a three-pin power lead, plus an eight-pin EPS-to-P4 adaptor that should make life a touch easier if your board uses a P4 power plug.

As with the 750W model, you get a few cable ties to aid cable-routing and some screws to attach the PSU to the PC case.
