Gaming and overclocking

Run as a pure system test with image-quality set to minimum via the in-game control panel, faster memory does provide a modicum of extra performance: the Corsair DDR3-1,600 is some five per cent faster than the Crucial DDR3-1,333.

RAM: ET: QW - 1,280x1,024 4xAA 16xAF vhq

But increase the game settings to a realistic 1,280x1,024 4xAA 16xAF on a Radeon HD 4870 card and the advantage all but disappears.

RAM: Far Cry 2 - 1,280x1,024 - ranch long - vhq

Which is further exemplified by the Far Cry 2 performance test at 1,280x1,024

Minimum frame-rates, too, are decidedly similar.

Keeping the 8-8-8-24 latencies intact and raising voltage to 1.75V, we were able to increase the DOMINATOR DDR3-1,600's frequency to almost 1,700MHz, which is nice.
