Overclocking

Now it's time to see whether the very carefully selected RAM chips used with the TWIN2X2048-8888C4DF grant us any overclocking fun. Our 10 minute Memtest86+ stability test isn't enough to validate the overclock as perfectly stable, but it follows the method used in our TWIN2X1024-8500 review so we have comparable results.

With the voltages pushed higher thanks to the DHX cooling, we managed to hit 1200MHz at the slackest of our tested timings. The other two results are records for us too. We can attribute this to the better cooling, a higher operating voltage and hand picked RAM chips on the modules.

Bottom line is there's scope for some unprecedentedly high overclocks with these modules; better than what Tarinder obtained in previous efforts. We must reiterate, however, that stable speeds might be lower than what we achieved in our time limited testing.
