Conclusion

but as an effort in reducing desk clutter for the masses of users who don't need a high-performance PC, ECS hits many of the right notes.

It's long been known that PCs primed for everyday use needn't be big, noisy or expensive. ECS takes this line of thinking in its stride with the Liva Q2 series, powered by the Intel Gemini Lake range of processors.

And the well-built Liva Q2 is small enough to go unnoticed on a desk, or completely hidden from view behind a monitor, which makes it a good choice for the office environment.

Don't expect decent performance from the quad-core chip, however, as it struggles with anything other than simple tasks. But that's OK if you're the kind to only email and play the odd high-resolution video - perfect for gran, then.

In an ideal world, we'd prefer the Liva Q2 as a completely fanless solution, and a bit cheaper, but as an effort in reducing desk clutter for the masses of users who don't need a high-performance PC, ECS has a viable solution.

The Good

The Bad
Good build quality
Very small form factor
Good for multimedia playback
Very energy efficient

Is there a need for a fan?
Feels sluggish under load

cant wait for these and other small form factors to have 10th gen INTEL procs. I so want to get rid of my giant atx case. for me, even a mini atx is looking too big. I would love to have great processing power in a tiny foot print, NUC or one of these with 10th gen I hope will provide that.

yeah I'm the same, going from a Bitfenix Outlaw to a Loque Ghost S1 MK2
My e-peen is too engorged for such things.

It requires ~60 of these to fill my case with satisfying quantities of e-peen.
So grannies who use a computer only have the ability to send an email and watch a video?
So a small Atom based PC, meh you've been able to buy those on Gearbest for years and usually way cheaper than this.

If it had at least a 2200g in it then I might be interested.
