Benchmarks: CPU
The arrival of Intel's 11th Gen Core processors has renewed competition in the desktop space, yet in our estimation AMD's Ryzen 5000 series continues to serve as the more favourable destination. Ryzen 9 5900X, in particular, is a prime pick for enthusiasts seeking solid single-thread performance allied to immense multi-threaded capabilities.
It is interesting to note that the 12-core 5900X is almost a match for the 16-core 3950X from the previous generation, and for those who do need those extra cores, there will be a One Pro a200. Corsair's top-end base unit will feature the 16-core Ryzen 9 5950X, 64GB of memory and a 2TB SSD, but expect to pay somewhere in the region of £4k for the privilege.
