Conclusion

...MSI's striking cylinder puts forth something different to the traditional desktop tower and offers enthusiasts a unique PC that's full of intrigue.

The MSI Vortex G65 6QF SLI is without a doubt one of the most interesting gaming rigs we've handled in recent years.

Borrowing its design cues from the Apple Mac Pro, MSI's striking cylinder puts forth something different to the traditional desktop tower and offers enthusiasts a unique PC that's full of intrigue.

The small footprint, eye-catching design and well-stocked array of connectivity is part of the appeal, and MSI attempts to keep true to its gaming roots by squeezing in an exotic selection of components. The highlights include a Core i7-6700K processor, dual GeForce GTX 980 GPUs, 16GB of DDR4 memory and a couple of high-speed NVMe SSDs.

Assembling said components in such tight formation is an impressive feat, yet Vortex G65 inevitably isn't without compromise. Heat and noise are bothersome, the SLI implementation is suboptimal, and the £3,000 asking fee acts as a rather large barrier to entry.

On balance, the Vortex G65 as it stands today isn't easy to recommend, but we come away from our time with the unit feeling as though we've seen enough to harbour high expectations for a second-generation model.

I personally don't like the look of it. Seems like a transformer has eaten a mac pro and this came out the other end… £3000 for Michael Bay Transformer poop!
A single 980 Ti beats this system, nuff said..
The Pascal-based 2nd Gen should be quite good :)
Wow that's ugly. Looks like a sub woofer crossed with a coffee maker. And for £3000.00!…..
just thinking of what I could build for that.

yeah that's exactly what i thought, wouldn't buy a CPU or GPU at all right now, though, CPU because i suspect that if AMD's Zen is any good we'll be seeing Intel quickly putting out new, improved CPU, or lowering the price
