Gaming tests and power consumption

SLI'd and overclocked GeForce 8800 Ultras blaze through our venerable Quake 4 test. The Genesis XOC's graphics subsystem is about as fast as money can buy.

SLI scaling in Lost Planet: Extreme Condition isn't amazing...

...but it is in Company of Heroes. Bear in mind that running Windows XP will take away the potential visual benefits of DX10.

Power

System Ultraviolet Genesis XOC/td> PC Specialist Apollo Q6600-X HEXUS E6700 GTX
Power-draw at idle 372W 185W 190W
Power-draw with all cores subject to Prime95 torture 449W 249W 235W
Power-draw with Prime95 and 3DMark06 looping 515W 275W 288W

The power-draw figures, as measured at the mains, highlight why Ultraviolet has chosen a high-wattage PSU. We'd be hard-pushed to engineer a consumer desktop system that would draw a great deal more power, really.
