Nice midrangers, those cards.
Good card for roughly £70 and silent too. But still its too close to the price of the 4850 which can be picked up £100 and offers a serious amount of more power.
Really found that interesting and enjoyable. I wonder what the real world differences in games would be between a 4670 (that doesnt have a name :p) and a 4850 / 4870.

It's only “close” in price IF you have £100 and are looking to save money and decide not too.

BUT, if you only have £70 for a card, £100 is 43% more money.

Significant ;)

The 4670 has 320 stream processors, the 4850 / 4870 have 800. It's not going to perform anywhere near it. Various hexus reviews highlight this - the 4670 manages about 50% - 60% of the 4850 framerates at 1280x1024.

Incidentally, I checked the performance of the HD4670 GDDR4 (from this hexus review) against the performance of a stock 4670 GDDR3 (from this hexus review) and found that you got between 1 - 2 fps more at 1280x1024, which reflects a maximum performance boost of about 5%. Of course, you have to factor in the better cooling and the interesting triumviarate of outputs…
