Looks hefty, but it would be much nicer to carry around to LAN parties than my beast of a machine and a monitor. The cherry on top is that it's surely much faster than my desktop.

As an owner of a 17" dual GTX 680M laptop, I agree. Performance doesn't particularly suck (beats one desktop 680) but given a desktop 680 was £300-400 while the laptop GPUs were £1400 total… yeah that sucks. Plus, find something with a dodgy sli profile and there's nothing you can do, one GPU won't handle something like battlefield 4 and two performs worse than 1…
Mega-regret my system, in hindsight a full desktop would have been just fine because I massively overestimated how often the machine moves.
