Toshiba shows off BG-series BICS client SSD drive
Mostly in OEM at the moment, coming to the client space soon.
Alex Mei, VP of Marketing of the Toshiba Storage Group, showed off the world's smallest NVMe SSD form factor, measuring just 16mmx20mm. Made possible by using Toshiba's 3-bit-per-cell BICS NAND, these drives, to be available in capacities of 1TB, will be coming soon.
Connecting to the motherboard via a PCIe Gen 3 x2 interface, these tiny drives are designed for ultra-thin laptops, 2-in-1 convertibles and tablets. We're intrigued to see these in the retail space.
