Delivering a year-on-year increase of 22 per cent compared to the same timeframe last year, Microsoft has unveiled staggering fourth-quarter revenue of $16.04 billion, for the period ending June 30th, 2010.

What the company deems as the successful launch of its Office 2010 platform, together with the continued vigour of its Windows 7 family, has fused together with the admirable performance of its Windows Server, Xbox and Bing lines, delivering results - described by Microsoft's Chief Financial Officer, Peter Klein - as reflecting the breadth of the company's offerings and, continued product momentum.

Kevin Turner - Chief Operating Officer at Microsoft - added that the company had experienced strong sales across its portfolio but particularly, in the enterprise market with Windows 7 and Office 2010.

Commenting on the commercial success of Windows 7 - notching-up in excess of 175 million license sales, to date - the company added that it expects to continue its pursuits, with the launch of eagerly-anticipated Windows Phone 7 and Xbox Kinect offerings, during the fall. Microsoft's commitment to cloud-based services is not to be underestimated either, with reports suggesting that the transition of Windows Azure and Business Productivity Online Services, is 'well underway'.

Microsoft's results for the fiscal year, ending June 30th, 2010, were no less impressive. Recording revenues of $62.48 billion, signifies year-on-year revenue expansion of 7 per cent for the Redmond, WA based company.

I wish I had even only 1% of that lol.:surprised:
Wonder how much the company lost on those two mobile devices they pulled.
Considering the massive marketing effort that went into Windows 7, I'm not surprised it's been such a success, and I'm sure thats contributed heavily!

I read somewhere it was about 140m
Microsoft, apple and intel can waste money on flawed products and get away with it while smaller, hard-working companies who try to give us a good deal compared to the big guns (example AMD) can't make a single mistake without it costing them for years.

It's a really messed up state of affairs, with us (the consumer) 100% to blame.
