Skype rings in change
Meanwhile, Skype has reportedly snapped up Tony Bates, a rising star at Cisco Systems as its new CEO.
Bates reportedly headed up Cisco's enterprise, commercial and small business division and will bring engineering know-how and leadership experience to his new Skype job.
He is said to have contributed to the Border Gateway Protocol and rose through the ranks at Cisco, gaining responsibility for half the company's revenue plus routing business and its data centre offerings.
One Skype investor told The FT: "He really understands carriers and Skype mobile is a huge push for us."
Meanwhile, David Ko has announced he will head up Zynga's mobile division having just left Yahoo as head of its US audience unit, according to Bloomberg.
The revolving doors have been working hard at Yahoo in the past week as Jimmy Pitaro, who was SVP of media has reportedly just left to become co-president of Disney's internet division.
Zynga, which created the social gaming hits Farmville and Mafia Wars sees mobile as the key area to drive its growth as more people use smartphones.
Apparently Zynga has been after Ko for months. At Yahoo he reportedly ran its mobile operations including product development and making distribution deals and took over as SVP of Yahoo Mobile back in 2009 having run its mobile business in the Asia-Pacific region.
