Going mobile

Norwegian web browser outfit Opera, which makes versions of its product for the iPhone and Android, has released the results of a survey of 300,000 of its Opera Mini users.

The survey contains a lot of geographically and demographically defined data, but the piece that sums it all up is that Opera Mini has over 76.3 million users in October 2010, which represents an increase of 92 percent of the course of 12 months. Furthermore, the number of page views has increased by 142 percent in that time, and data traffic is up 134 percent.

There are also some interesting insights into the mobile browsing habits of Opera Mini users in a variety of countries. We've reproduced the slides for the US and UK below, note Opera's mobile product for Android is still in beta.

Finally, here's a revealing look at the use of mobile phones for dating by 18-27 year olds in various countries.
