Ofcom, the telecom regulator has revealed information about most complained telecom providers and 3 UK tops Ofcom complaints chart, followed by T-Mobile, Orange, Vodafone and O2.

Three UK received 0.15 complaints per 1,000 customers, beating T-Mobile (0.13) and Orange (0.10) to top the charts. Ofcom received fewer complaints about O2 than the other four providers, receiving only 0.04 complaints per 1,000 customers.

Among broadband providers, Ofcom received most complaints about TalkTalk Group with 1.27 complaints per 1000 customers, followed by BT Retail and BSkyB. The least complained about provider was Virgin Media with 0.20 complaints per 1000 customers. The report noted that Ofcom saw a peak in complaints about TalkTalk Group in November 2010.

Landline complaints followed a similar pattern.

On an average, Ofcom receives around 450 complaints a day, most of it relating to issues such as mis-selling, billing errors, lack of service and customer service problems. In a report detailing its complaints, Ofcom noted that on an average, mobile complaint levels are much lesser when compared to landline and broadband complaints.

The report aims to encourage competition and incentivize telecoms providers to better their performance. The data published today is from October 2010 to February 2011.

Not surprised - I've had problems with both the technical support folks and customer services (made the mistake of trying to change bank details). They really are utterly useless! And can someone please explain why my account seems unable to consistently send texts to folks who aren't on 3 (e.g. sent a code to CokeZone one weekend, and the following weekend I couldn't - no explanation given, the send just fails after 5 minutes). :wallbash:
The least complained about provider was Virgin Media with 0.20 complaints per 1000 customers.
Now that I find interesting - given the level of dissatisfaction expressed in these comments. Or is it just that people have given up complaining about them? ;)
Me and Wife were both on three for a number of years. Never had too many issues. Signal would drop suddenly quite often though, data and voice. One minute you'd have full signal then none in the same spot.

Changed bank details once online, worked fine. Had issue with the customer service in our local store once, big issue. Faulty phone straight from the box and they wanted to send it of for repair. They really tried to dig their heals in on it too - got our way in the end only by the customer service on the phone emailing the manager.

Because of this one issue I've not renewed and moved to T-mobile. Wife won't be renewing either on three.

T-mobile customer service is terrible though and also their terms and conditions are well dodgy. Wish I hadn't taken a 24 month contract with them. Although signal is very good, they cap data speeds, they compress images from the web and you'll never get told the truth.
Damnit… The day I sign up for talktalks phone and broadband package I learn they're the most complained about? I hope I don't have any issues with them. :undecided
My wife is on 3 and its just a waste of time! No signal anywhere, they offer lots of minutes and internet for a low price becuase they know their signal is so poor you can never use it all!!

Oh and TalkTalk are a nightmare!!! My work have 10 ADSL lines with a company that was bought out by Talk Talk, it has gone quickly downhill and at times we can be on hold for 3 hours only to be cut off or passed around department to department. I once spoke to 6 different departments to try and get an issue fixed only to eventually be cut off.
