Teachers TV, the digital TV channel for those in education, has launched a new internet navigation tool for their award-winning website.  The new ‘Learning Journeys’ feature has been introduced alongside Flash Player to give website users greater flexibility and interactivity with the site’s content.

The ‘Learning Journeys’ navigation tool has been developed in response to user feedback that the sheer volume of resources available at Teachers.TV can be overwhelming. With ‘Learning Journeys’, users have access to a package of programmes put together by leading educationalists such as teachers, governors and behavioural specialist John Bayley, that provide a simple guide to the best resources around specific topics.

Andy Smith, Teachers TV’s Director of Digital Services, explains:
“We are delighted to unveil these new features which will make it even easier for our audience to make full use of all Teachers.TV has to offer. Since launch, Teachers TV has been at the forefront of digital innovation as one of the only UK broadcasters to make our content available, for free, online. This latest development shows our determination to meet the needs of our audience and ensure we remain one of the world’s leading providers of educational resources.”

Each ‘Learning Journey’ comprises of three to five programmes, and features helpful comment and suggestions from the author.  They are also interactive, enabling users to rate the content, offer feedback and suggest ideas for new journeys.

In addition to the ‘Learning Journeys’ Teachers.TV will also, in the new year, make Flash Player available, making it easier for teachers to edit programmes and use content in their own work. Recently, Teachers.TV was awarded the Japan Prize 2007 as the Best International Educational Website.
