PRESS RELEASE

Pong's patented technology can also improve mobile and Wi-Fi signal strength and conserve battery life

London, UK. - November 26, 2012 - The World Health Organization (WHO) classifies the electromagnetic radiation smartphones emit as a carcinogen and recommends users adopt what it calls the "precautionary principle" to reduce their exposure. Pong Research Corporation today releases its new case for Blackberry devices that can help users follow the WHO recommendation by safely redirecting radiation away from their heads without negatively impacting device performance. In fact, the Pong case can improve signal strength and battery life when compared to other after-market cases.

"While there is no proof that smartphone radiation causes cancer, the Journal of the American Medical Association found that just 50 minutes of use has been proven to alter activity in the brain area closest to the phone," said Todd DeYoung, CEO of Pong Research. "If a pharmaceutical company submits a new drug to the FDA for approval that lists this alteration of brain activity as a side effect, the FDA would not likely approve the drug. The Pong case is not a radiation shield or absorber that interferes with the phone signal. Our technology redirects and redistributes radiation away from the head and body, and maintains or increases signal strength."

Proven Technology

All smart phone antennas emit microwave energy, a form of electromagnetic radiation (EMR), when transmitting to cell towers. Consumers' heads and bodies can absorb the majority of this radiation. Pong rigorously tests its cases in its two test labs. All products are tested for SAR (Specific Absorption Rate) and TRP (Total Radiated Power) on all frequencies on which the phone operates worldwide. Two independent labs, CETECOM and RF Exposure Labs, both accredited as Telecommunications Certified Bodies with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and able to issue FCC equipment authorization approvals, verify Pong's internal testing results. CETECOM and RF Exposure Labs regularly perform SAR measurements according to U.S., Canadian, European, and Australian standards for mobile devices.

"The Pong case reduces radiation exposure by up to 95 percent below international safety limits, and can increase signal strength by up to 46 percent, depending on the device model," added DeYoung. "Not only do other cases do nothing to protect users from radiation emissions, they can actually interfere with the phone's signal. This interference forces the device to work harder, emitting higher levels of radiation and reduces battery life."

Pricing and Availability

The Pong Blackberry case fit the Blackberry Bold models 9900, 9930, 9700 and 9780, and the Curve models 8520 and 8530. The cases are available from £39.99 in 2 colors colors: (black and green). For more information and to purchase a case, visit www.pongresearch.co.uk.

About Pong Research

Pong Research Corporation is the world's first and only maker of technologically-advanced iPad and smartphone cases that improve device performance and protect users against cellular and Wi-Fi radiation.  Developed by a team of PhD scientists trained at MIT, Princeton, Harvard and UCLA, all Pong cases are embedded with a multi-patented, ultra-thin flexible printed circuit board antenna that redirects and diffuses the electromagnetic radiation (EMR) that would otherwise be absorbed by the user's head and body. Now protecting people in more than 100 countries, Pong cases are easy to put on and take off, come in a rainbow of fashionable colors and styles, work anywhere in the world, and may be purchased at pongresearch.co.uk with prices starting at £39.99.  For more information, visit www.pongresearch.co.uk.
