Net users go mad for online photo printing and sharing

Add yet another task to the list of things you no longer need to leave your home to do: photo printing.

We've seen digital cameras almost completely replace film based cameras, but producing decent prints using your own printer is, even if you have a photo printer, often a hassle. Forget the trip to go and get your pictures 'developed' however, as online print services are seen by many as the way forward.

UK online printing service PhotoBox offers prints from 7p. The privately owned company has been running for five years and has seen the market boom, with registrations rocketing.

An online company such as PhotoBox can offer far more than a photo processing booth in a supermarket can. Services extend beyond simple photo printing, with PhotoBox offering offering personalised gifts such as cards, pillows, handbags and etched glassware.

Keeping with the web users' urge to share, the site also has a public albums section, where customers have submitted their pictures to be publicly available so that anyone can order them as prints. The professional gallery allows pro photographers to sell their own work online.

You no longer need to leave the house to buy clothes, household appliances, food, booze, and now you don't need to go anywhere to get your photos professionally printed. However, you will have to venture into the Real WorldTM to actually take some pictures worth printing.
