Last month HEXUS.gaming reported that hackers were threatening to ruin the Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare multiplayer experience by giving themselves an unfair advantage with the likes of unlimited ammo and no weapon re-load times.

At that point, Infinity Ward was aware of the issue and promised to release a patch to fix the cheating. That patch was released at the end of August, but rather than appease gamers it's caused outrage among the community who are calling for it to be removed or amended.

The new issue revolves around semi-automatic weapons, which have now been restricted by a time limit of .5 before every shot. Many elite gamers can pull the trigger faster than that. Via the official forums and a number online petitions, the community is now requesting that Infinity Ward amend that cap time to .3-.4 seconds.

Infinity Ward reacted swiftly to the modders, but will it be as brisk at responding to the demands of the community this time?

Just because you can click a mouse 5 times in a second doesn't mean the gun should fire that rapidly.
