Do you want a free copy of Gearbox Software’s Borderlands 2? Do you live in/near London? Could you stomach a bungee jump? If the answer to all these questions is yes, then we have news of a grand day out for you in London this Sunday.
Borderlands 2 is due to hit UK retailers on Friday. To celebrate, 2K Games is hosting a bungee jump event to promote the game. The event takes place in London and you will have to queue up, first come first served, for the bungee.
- Place: Ely's Yard, Brick Lane, London
- Time: Between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m
- Date: Sunday 23rd September
The UK PR Manager at 2K Games, Ben Lawrence said “We want to provide an afternoon of extreme fun and discover just how psycho Borderlands 2 fans can get. A bungee jump is the perfect way to truly test your nerves and we’re excited to bring the insane pleasure of the game into the real world!” Also it’s relatively cheap to arrange and bungee jumping can be organised almost anywhere a crane can be erected...
The review embargo for the new game was lifted yesterday and computer gaming magazine VG247 posted their review. Conveniently the magazine has also compiled a ratings/links list of nearly 40 other reviews, which seem to average out at about 90/100, a very high score. However my favourite source of gaming news, The Wall Street Journal, concludes that Borderlands 2 falls short of expectations, especially in online mode, and FPS fans should save their money until they see the upcoming COD: Black Ops 2.
If you are a bungee jumping Londoner who enjoys violent video games (for free) the 2K Games promotional event at Ely’s Yard, Brick Lane should provide you with an enjoyable Sunday outing.
