A Brief History of Time(Shift)

We covered TimeShift pretty extensively in this Leipzig 2005 Hands On and a rather short demo has been out for a while now, but what has happened to this promising shooter? Last we heard, TimeShift was pretty finished and being published by Atari… but then everything went quiet…

Then Vivendi bought the game, lock, stock and barrel and by that time, TimeShift’s producer, Kyle Peschel was working at VU Games. So Vivendi handed TimeShift back to him as he was keen to put some more finishing touches to the game, do a bit of tweaking and all the general fiddling that folks do to their products. What this means is that TimeShift probably won’t be around for another 6 months or so but that does mean we should see a better game than the ‘ok-ish’ demo that came out a while ago…

So, other than having another go on TimeShift at E3 2006, (which we also played the multiplayer version of at CES 2006) there’s not much else to say except that we’re hoping that another six months of development gives us a good game… and perhaps a shooter other than GRAW for the Xbox 360. And now, on with the latest screenshots from the PC and Xbox 360 versions:
