Speaking to VentureBeat, SCEA’s senior VP of marketing Peter Dille says that we should expect a stock shortage for PlayStation Move over the coming months as Sony struggles to cope with demand.

Dille says that stores are running low across all the major territories and may not be replenished until January or February.

“That bodes well for the holiday selling season,” he told the website. “We have a catch-up problem in all three territories that will last until January or February.”

Though we're still waiting to hear about sales figures for Move, it's believed that Sony has shipped 1.5m units to retailers in Europe and 1m in North America since the launch date. Microsoft's Kinect is suffering with similar shortages, with those who haven't already pre-ordered the sensor warned that they probably won't get it before Christmas.
