Listings published on the Toys R Us UK website appear to confirm both the Microsoft Xbox One and Sony PlayStation 4 release dates and prices in the UK. These highly anticipated next-generation console systems launch dates and prices, as revealed by Toys R Us are pretty much in line with earlier leaks, rumours and estimates.

Microsoft Xbox One

The Toys R Us UK website lists the Xbox One at a price of £419.99. While all pre-orders are spoken for the general availability 'to be released' date is listed as 29th November. The Xbox website says the release date will be sometime in November so Toys R Us' listing seems very plausible.

Toys R Us sum up the Xbox One as "Where your favourite games, live TV, movies, music and sports come together in one place." Also the new Xbox controller is said to be packed with "over 40 innovations," furthermore "it’s simply the best controller Xbox has ever made".

Extra controllers with play 'n' charge will be a painful £89.99 each, we found out from Amazon UK pre-order pricing earlier this week. SlashGear says US residents will only have to pay $75 via Amazon for the same kit.

Sony PlayStation 4

The Toys R Us UK website lists the PlayStation 4 at a price of £339.99. While all pre-orders are spoken for the general availability 'to be released' date is listed as 13th December. This date is a fortnight after the Microsoft console and perilously close to Xmas for Mums, Dads and gamers. I hope for Sony's sake there are no production issues, big storms at sea or volcanic air pollution getting in the way of its timely shipments.

Toys R Us sum up the PlayStation 4 as "the best place to play with dynamic, connected gaming, powerful graphics and speed, intelligent personalization, deeply integrated social capabilities, plus innovative second-screen features". Also looking at the new controller "The DualShock 4 controller features new innovations to deliver more immersive gaming experiences, including a highly sensitive six-axis sensor as well as a touch pad located on the top of the controller which offers completely new ways to play and interact with games. The new Share button puts video streaming and sharing a tap away."

Extra controllers for the PS4 are on pre-order on Amazon UK for £54.99, significantly undercutting the Xbox One equivalents. In the US they are just $60 according to SlashGear.

The dates and prices from Toys R Us are, as usual with pre-releases, "subject to change" and might not be entirely accurate so should be taken with a grain of salt.

£90 for an additional controller? That has to be a serious ass-covering exercise surely?

If they expect an outlay of £420 + (3 x 90) = £690 for a 4-player game, they have to be on a different planet.

Imitations will probably be £15……..
aren't the 4 player games going to be based around Kinect, because all the 4 player games are going to be replaced with dance dance revolution lady gaga edition.

Don't forget the £50 for the game too. Brings it to a fair old sum of £740…
The listed controller price for the XBox One is ridiculous. Do they want to stop people playing games together? (Yes, probably, let's see if the next Forza has split-screen local multiplayer or not).

Potential purchasers need to factor in this cost. The PS4 with an extra controller will be over £100 cheaper than the XBox One with an extra controller.
Look's like it'll be the PS4 for most then!

Outrageous prices for more controllers! For some reason, they think its right to make the controller an extra £40 over here compared to US users, who can buy them for $75?!

In my opinion, the PS4 also looks better than the XBOX One.

They really need to sort their marketing out over there, far far too expensive.
