Price war on the cards

The price of Sony Computer Entertainment's portable handheld, the PSP,has been cut across Britain. The PSP giga pack, which includes a stand, and a 1Gb memory stick, had been retailing at £214.99. Many online retailers and gaming stores have now dropped the price to £189.99, fuelling speculation of a price war on the horizon.

The PSP became the fastest selling console in history, with more than 185,000 units sold in its first four days in UK shops

Sony have declined to comment on the price drop
