A new PSP modchip is apparently complete and ready to be released. "Undiluted Platinum" will "act as a flash replacement system for the PSP which allow the use of previous flash updates or custom flash builds."

The chip ensurues that unsigned code can be played on the PSP and it will be possible to use older and custom firmwares.

We'll have more details on the chip shortly, but until that time please assume that the news is 'rumour' only.

Yeah sorry, I'll put a link up as soon as I've been given the nod. :)
Awaiting more info.

We've basically had a tip-off that the chip is real and ready for sale, however we're awaiting further information, hence the ‘apparently’ stance on the chip. Take the news as ‘rumour’ until confirmed.

It appears that the news has been fed to a number of sites and may indeed be fake, photoshopping has clearly happened on the chip that has been shown on a few websites.
Hopefully we should hear more over the next couple of days.:)
Some more news on it has been posted this minute. Full specs including a price :D
