Superb 3D effect from a standard TV

Now bear with me on this one. Head tracking is nothing new, Track IR being one system that's been around for ages, but this guy has taken it to the next level and produced something that is, frankly, bloody amazing.

Basically, using a Wii Remote as a base unit and then clamping an IR light source to your head, you can get the free software and run this on your own PC to get the same effect.... ahh, just watch the video to see what I mean, it's well worth sitting through the explanation to see how it's done.

All we need now is game devs to pick up on this and make us a game where dodging and ducking really means something!

Brilliant, the fact that this technology is in loads of houses already just proves that the technology is ready now and were back to waiting for programmers to take advantage of it instead of the programmers whining about what they cant do becuase the tech's not there..
Yep. Track Ir has been around for years, and that other one that uses a white spot and a web cam that we all tried out back in my serious IL2 days.

But what's cool is that this guy's software, which you can download, uses forward and back motion and for me, the illusion was perfect until the target went off the corner of the TV screen. The guy is a genius.

Developers take note!
