Ubisoft have confirmed even more support for Wii in the form of Prince of Persia. The swashbuckling action/adventure will hit stores in 2007.

"A game based on Ubisoft's popular Prince of Persia franchise is currently in development for the Wii," the rep told Gamespot. "At this time we don't have any additional information on the game or when it will be coming out, but we'll let you know as soon as we do."

The Prince of Persia franchise has been running since 1989 when it was originally released for Apple II. The latest game, Prince of Persia : The Two Thrones was released on multiple formats and was apparently the last in a trilogy that included Sands of Time, and Warrior Within.

It's currently not known whether Ubisoft will release a brand new Prince Of Persia title for Nintendo's next-gen console or whether we'll see a revamped version of one of the previous games.
