Conclusion
Surprisingly, the graphics throughout FIFA Street 2 are fairly average. EA are renowned for their polished graphics and, on the surface, the graphics are more than adequate. Player models are superb and resemble their famous counter-parts accurately. Unlike other football titles that haven't tried to glam up some of the uglier players, Wayne Rooney actually looks like Wayne Rooney. Player animations have also been nailed and the trick moves, a trademark of the FIFA Street series, are executed with great detail and fluid movement.
However, scratch the surface of these seemingly superb graphics and you’ll find a wealth of shoddy workmanship. During cut-scenes players move like they have some form of arthritis, they are stiff and unrealistic. The environments are poorly detailed, I know it’s street football but surely there would be a crowd of people gathered to watch the fine skills of the World’s best players, the scenery is totally lifeless.
These poor graphics don’t really intrude too much on the gameplay, FIFA Street 2 is about football after all, and the scenery and cut-scenes are just a sideshow to the main event.
Whilst the graphics disappoint, the soundtrack is once again an asset to the game.
FIFA Street 2 has a superb sound-track featuring 47 tracks, from rock to hip-hop to drum and bass you’ll find something for every one. The game boasts three unique radio stations offering a variety of music. There is even the option to customise the track-list to fit your own musical taste buds. Included in the list of artists are the likes of Roni Size and the drum and bass master, Grooverider.
FIFA Street 2 is a great blast with friends, but a boring single player experience. Once you’ve completed the story mode the only replayability factor is with your mates. Xbox fans will be dissapointed at the omition of live play, and football purists will cringe at the lack of tactical play.
Despite all the fancy tricks and the strangely addictive gameplay, FIFA Street 2 is a one-trick pony.
