No thrills and spills

The presentation of the Da Vinci Code is inconsistent throughout. Character animations are wooden, jerky and downright ugly, camera angles are often comical, and the graphical portrayal of the museums and various environments vary greatly. Occasionally superb but often dull and dreary the graphics fail to capture the cloak and dagger atmosphere that one might have expected from such a title.

The music in the game adds to the atmosphere well, but the heavy dialogue becomes coma inducing. The biggest frustration with the dialogue is the fact that you either have to listen to the full conversation or skip the whole of the narrative. A simple option to be able to skip a sentence or paragraph at a time would have been a welcome addition, and allowed us to pick out the relevant bits from the conversations. The futher you travel through the game the more you'll just want to skip the dialogue, thus missing out on important information.

The lack of solid gampelay throughout this game, dull dialogue, poor fighting mechanics and dreary puzzles make the Da Vinci Code a movie spin-off failure.

Pros
Da Vinci code fans might like it

Cons
Dreary puzzles
Dull dialogue
Poor combat system
Poor animation

A yawn filled game, fans of the Da Vinci Code will still enjoy it, but anyone else would be advised to steer clear.
